OUR BUSINESS
The majority of mining accidents (excluding fall-of-ground), are mining vehicle traffic-related accidents and incidents. TerreSauver’ s focus is mine traffic safety (Collision Avoidance Systems (CAS)and Solutions) and efficiency (optimising load-and-haul cycle times). We:
- Research international best practices and technologies for collision avoidance and safe operating practices,
- Test mine-specific context and functionality of Collision Avoidance Systems (CAS)and solutions,
- Understand the technical functionalities and practical implications of the various Collision Avoidance Technologies (CAS) in terms of implementation,
- Assess the traffic flow and safe operating risks, and then
- Develop safe operating requirements for the mine vehicles and traffic (TMM COP, procedures and standards, etc.), as well as a detailed change management/implementation management road in terms of the human element (ensuring a successful implementation),
- Ensure that our clients have well informed, independent advice on which to base their decision, as well as detailed oversight for a successful implementation.
OUR NAME – TERRESAUVER
Terre – meaning “on the ground”, “earth” , and
Sauver – meaning “safe from loss” “protector of’, “limiting impact”
The mining industry internationally has Performance Excellence and Safety as core values. This demands world-class operational performance and the highest safety levels. Recent incident reports world-wide have identified vehicle collisions (whether vehicle to vehicle, or to person, or to infrastructure) as one of the biggest hazards / risks (apart from fall of ground) in the mines. Traffic safety (underground and surface mining) will be a key focus going forward, as with less incidents and accidents we can produce more and in a safer way.
TerreSauver’s purpose is to assist or bring about the most optimal traffic flow (meaning safest and smoothest flow /shorter load-and-haul cycle times and less stoppages due to traffic accidents or incidents) for our clients in the mining industry.
OUR BUSINESS APPROACH
